King Wesfil

About

King Eric Wesfil sits on the throne of Wesfil Castle in Kal Crossing. Sir Loin calls him "King Wesfil the thirty sixth", and when he grants a blessing he names himself "King Eric Wesfil, Ruler of Badongerst." He is usually eating when you come to him: in Persistence his jester waves you off because "The king is busy eating, can't you see?", and afterwards he asks to be left to his pudding. His jester, Lauff Tyr, speaks for him in rhyme. When you approach during the throne room scene, the king tells you to "Speak to my stewardess, not me, peasant", meaning Liza.

His subjects are frank about him. Silvia Bellows says he "would sooner speak to the inside of a doughnut than to me or you." Liza, in private, says he was "so distracted sampling his cakes and celebrating his birthday or some big feast every few months." Tartiana Linzer knows "the quickest way to King Wesfil's heart? Through his stomach."

In Persistence you ask him to give "The Bellows" "a better workstation and some coal" so they can make steel armor. He gives you "until I finish this drumstick to make whatever case you need to make", then refuses: "Plenty of guards return well enough from their patrols, so I see no need to waste resources for that." Liza and Theodore later change his mind.
