How it works

The rules the game runs on, worked out from the game itself. Every table on these pages is calculated from the same numbers the server uses.

  • Skills and experience

Seventeen skills, each levelled from 1 to 100 on its own experience. Where experience comes from, how boosts work, and the full level table.

  • Combat

How a hit turns into damage, in the order the server works it out: damage types, resistance, your levels, critical hits, armor and faction bonuses.

  • Blocking and parrying

A block stops a share of each hit, up to a cap, for a fifth of your stamina. Start it just before the hit lands to parry: twice the share, no stamina cost.

  • Health and stamina

Vitality sets your maximum health and Dexterity your maximum stamina. Health only refills itself to 40%, so food does the rest.

  • Loot and drop rates

How a creature's loot table is rolled, what "1 in 128" really means, and how many kills a rare drop takes.

  • Item quality and modifiers

Gear comes in five qualities, Common to Legendary. Better quality means higher stats, more value, more rolled modifiers and a higher level requirement.

  • Crafting grades

A recipe's minigame grades you from C to S. The grade sets the quality odds of what you make, and crafting by hand pays 1.75 times the experience.

  • Gathering

Your tool decides how often a gather succeeds and your level how fast you work, and most rocks and trees can simply be hit. The rules for every gathering skill.

  • Shops and prices

Shops pay you a share of an item's value and charge a multiple of it. What each shop pays and charges, and how quality changes both.

  • Death and recovery

Dying costs you what is in your pack, never your gear, coins, bank or levels. Adon keeps the lot, gives three stacks back free and sells you the rest.

  • Occultism and the curse

Adon's gift fills a curse meter as you fight, gather and craft. Ichor and totems hold it down, and your humanity decides how hard the curse bites.

  • Party play

Up to four players can team up. Everyone in a party earns 3% more experience, but loot and kill credit stay with whoever tagged the creature.
