Crafting

Everything you can make, and where to make it. Recipes live at workstations: an anvil forges metal, a campfire cooks, a survival workbench turns logs and leather into gear. Fires, bowstrings, pottery, cut gems, enchantments and bait are made by hand instead: see crafting by hand.

By skill

By workstation

Each workstation has its own menu of recipe categories. A standard anvil, furnace or stove makes more than the basic kind, often for more experience; only the basic furnace smelts salvage, and steel gear is forged at the basic anvil once Persistence reaches the right stage.

How crafting works

Each recipe has an automatic craft and, for most, a focused craft with a short minigame. The first time you make a minigame recipe it has to be the focused craft; after that you can queue automatic crafts. A focused craft pays 1.75 times the experience and grades you C to S, and the grade sets the odds of higher quality gear. The full rules and odds are on crafting grades.

Every craft also adds a little curse, shown on each recipe. Tools such as moulds, tongs and chisels must be in your bags or in your hands, and they are not used up.
